A message from this year's popcorn fundraiser campaign organizer:
Campaign runs 9/26 through 10/24
It's time to begin our popcorn fundraiser for the upcoming scouting year. Profits realized go directly to our pack and fund our various scouting activities throughout the year. The Minsi Trails Council has suggested a goal of $225 per scout in sales. Our pack would like to set a goal of $150 to $200 per scout. If you would prefer not to participate in the fundraiser, a buyout option is available for $30. If this is a hardship for anyone, please feel free to discuss with one of the den leaders.
As in the past, there are various prize levels that are attainable based on amount of sales. In addition, our pack will provide prizes to the top three sellers. Last year, our pack sold $3381 worth of popcorn ( trust me, it was a lot of popcorn in the my garage). Our profit on sales is 37%. However, any amount over last year's sales will yield us an additional 3% in profit.
I would ask that money be collected at the time of ordering. Checks may be payable to pack 349. All orders and money will be due on or about 10/24 ( we will firm up this date once pack meetings are established). Delivery is tentatively scheduled for 11/22 to Minsi Trails Council. Once available, we will need volunteers to assist with filling our pack order as well as pick up at Minsi Trails on Postal Road ( will probably need 2 or 3 vehicles based on last year's order). Individual orders will then be available for pick up at my home. If anyone would like to assist in this process, please let me know.
Please stress the importance of safety during this fundraiser to your scout. Sell to those you know, use a buddy system if possible and don't carry large amounts of cash. Wear your uniform and tell your customer's that their purchase goes towards funding our scouting activities throughout the year.
Some final notes to heed when selling:
- Be prepared by reviewing your sales packet before you head out.
- Have a pen and possibly a clipboard ready.
- Have a few dollars available to make change.
- Checks are made payable to Cub Scout Pack 349.
